US$1,050,000, or US$800,000 where the investment is in a qualifying targeted employment area or infrastructure project, with statutory adjustment beginning 1 January 2027. Around the capital sit petition filing fees at the amounts published in the USCIS fee schedule, Form G-1055, plus counsel, project administration fees and the cost of documenting source and path.
The capital is the investment; the fees are not part of it
One distinction saves a great deal of confusion. The qualifying amount is money placed at risk in the enterprise; it is not reduced by anything spent to get there. Administration fees charged by a regional centre or project sponsor, legal fees, translation, accountancy, escrow charges and government filing fees all sit outside the qualifying capital and have to be funded separately.
Solange should build the budget in that order: the amount at risk first, then every cost that will not come back. She should also treat the lower figure as conditional rather than as her number. It applies only where the designation genuinely holds, and where a project has designed itself into a designation that later fails to stand up, the difference is substantial.
Because the amounts adjust from 1 January 2027, a plan funded from instalments arriving over several years should be modelled against the higher possibility rather than the current figure.
